Q. There is a truck for sale, near my house. I went tog o look at it, nice truck and all. Nice priced, and seems (don't they all) to run good. But the seller claims he doesnt have a title, its be misplaced. How hard is it to get one? any problems I may run into? PS. I'm in no hurry to get truck going. For son. 2001 dodge ram 1500. It's not difficult to get a duplicate title, if the owner is the only owner on record. If there is a lien against the car, mechanic lien, or a lender, that person must release interest, in order for a clear title to be issued in the owner's name only. If there is more than one registered/legal owner, all must sign the form requesting the duplicate title. Most states will issue a duplicate title for 5-10dollars.
