I'm planning to go to San Diego with 2 of my friends and since we are going via Amtrak, we need some way to get around San Diego for the entire day. We are arriving at the San Diego Amtrak Station and I was wondering what type of transportation would be the most cost-effective for the three of us. Also, since we do not know San Diego too well, I would greatly appreciate it if you leave any suggestions on where to visit or any activities we can do during our trip. Oh and if there are some MUST eat San Diego restaurants, it would be great if you guys could name some. Thanks! I forgot to add, for transportation methods, it would be great if you guys can add the price for like an all day pass or whatever. Thanks! Presidio Hill and the Serra Museum Followed by "Old Town" and while in "Old Town" there is a Mexican restaurant there (the name escapes me but there's only one) that is cheap and GOOD. I might inject here that as far as Mexican food goes, California, San Diego in particular, has at LEAST as good but probably better than Mexico itself. Mission Bay is a must especially if you like boating, Sea World, the ZOO and the Balboa Park museums. And if you still need more San Pasqual has a Wild Animal Park that is great. They have a tram system in SD that takes you close to almost anywhere you want to go, unless it has drastically changed lately, it's fairly safe. Me and some friends are planning on spending the weekend in San Diego and will be visiting the zoo and the Wild Animal Park. In the evenings, we want to have a good time and visit some nice places in San Diego. Does anyone know of some great restaurants and other places we can visit? Does anyone have any suggestions/ comments about the zoo and wild animal park also? Thanks in advance for your help! Asked by Jennifer - Wed Aug 22 13:41:27 2007 - - 5 Answers - 1 Comments A. Both the zoo and the Wild Animal Park are great. I'd recommend driving to the top of Mt. Soledad in La Jolla for a panoramic view of the coastline and the city skyline. Georges Outdoor Terrace Bistro in La Jolla has the best view. Make reservations so that you are at a good table and time it so you are dining during the sunset. It's truly spectacular. Also...have a bonfire on the beach. Roast marshmallows. Q. We want to go to Sea World and San Diego Zoo next year as early as possible. After the winter, what month does it start to warm up? How cold does it get in San Diego? Asked by Brianna'sMomma - Tue Nov 6 13:50:06 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. Spring is kind of cool in SD in my opinion. Winter and Spring temps can vary depending on the weather, it will either be somewhat cool and in the 60's or warm and sunny and in the 70's and 80's when there are Santa Ana winds or any slight offshore flow. Mid-May to Mid-June is probably one of the worst times of year for weather along the coast. We call it "May Gray" and "June gloom" b/c the weather pattern at the time of year produces a thick marine layer and it's overcast a lot. Late June through Novemember are the warmest times of year in SD. The coldest it gets at night near the coast in SD is usually around 50. The days are usually in the 60's and 70's.
