What's the best tool for organising LOTS of photos on the Mac?
Q. I have a HUGE collection of photos (probably over 20,000), which I want to organise, not just into folders, but also by theme, and put in keywords like my friends' names. I need a program that will handle this, iPhoto just has big lists on the left-hand side, which is too cumbersome for so many photos. Plus it's a bit slow, even on my dual-core iMac. I'd like the meta-data (tags, captions, categories) to be exportable too, e.g. to an XML file, or something. Lastly, I need to be able to make some photos private, so that casual guests don't see my saucy shots of girlfriends! Picasa seems to be for Windows, not Mac I need this program to be able to share some folders/tags on the network too...

A. I remember the old version of iPhoto, it sure slowed down! Now with version 6.0.6 It runs much better and handles more images. What version do you have??

Q. China is rich with exportable cash and could with little encouragement set up factories ( read Bases) on the US Mexican Border. they already have made Peaceful negotiations and exchanges. What are your thoughts? rich with exportable cash , not rich overall. it is a matter of priorities, Put a Billion into bases and OIL platforms 3 Miles from San Diego or inland china...

A. What about all of the American factories (bases) already there. China would have a tough time dealing with the extreme corruptness of the rich few that control Mexico. Mexico's government is extremely wealthy, just its people are kept in poverty. Let then set up on the border, give us a rock solid excuse to build a wall. Our government seems to fear Mexico because it has done damn little to stop the US from being invaded by over 12 million people. An invasion does not have to be military in nature. Research The Reconquista and you will see it is a very real invasion supported by the Mexican government.

Highest Quality Video Format?
Q. Highest Quality Format for Video? I am exporting a video file edited on a Mac for use with a Windows system and would like to know which, out of the following choices, has the best quality: -AVI -Windows Media (or .WMV, I suppose) -MPEG-4 -DV Stream The above are a list of exportable file formats from Final Cut Express HD. The size of the resulting file is not an issue. I am only looking for good quality video that is compatible with Windows PCs. Also, can someone possibly tell me how to make sure that i do not compress the video file when exporting using Final Cut Express HD?

A. Probably AVI on a huge resolution. MPEG-4 isn't amazing as it's compressed and same with WMV Try uncomressed AVI with huge resolution : )
