Animals are a major group of mostly multicellular, eukaryotic organisms of the kingdom Animalia or Metazoa. Their body plan eventually becomes fixed as they develop, although some undergo a process of metamorphosis later on in their life. Most animals are motile, meaning they can move spontaneously and independently. Most animals are also heterotrophs, meaning they must ingest other organisms for sustenance. Most known animal phyla appeared in the fossil record as marine species during the Cambrian explosion, about 542 million years ago. From Wikipedia under the

Animals are no different than humans accept for their body and intelligence differs. The earth is the mother of mankind and the servant of God. We should respect her and not exploit her energies. All vegetation should be offered to God when prepared. What every we do we should take much consideration as to how to treat each living entity. Invertebrates like brachiopods, gastropods, and molluscs were severely affected. In the oceans, 22% of marine families and possibly about half of marine genera went missing, according to University of Chicago paleontologist Jack Sepkoski. Though the end-Triassic extinction event was not equally devastating everywhere in terrestrial ecosystems, several important clades of Crurotarsi (large archosaurian reptiles previously grouped together as the thecodonts) disappeared, as did most of the large labyrinthodont… [cont.] Answered by cin2win - Mon Feb 11 19:16:38 2008 How do zoos decide which animals to keep and which ones to not keep?
Q. Is it only endangered animals in zoos, or popular animals, or animals that are considered more domestic or friendly or what!? Heck, is there even a criteria at all? Asked by Answer-Me-This - Fri Sep 14 10:33:18 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. The criteria is different for each zoo. There are many factors for deciding which animals to keep. A zoo must first be able to afford the animal and to build the habitat in which to keep it. Then they have to consider whether it is an animal which may interest the public. If that animal has special dietary or environmental needs (like if they would have to buy more than one animal) that needs to be considered as well. Each zoo is different, has different funding, and has a different public about which to be concerned. Some zoos will have domestic animals such as donkeys and horses because they cannot afford more exotic animals or because their visitors actually enjoy seeing these animals. Some zoos don't bother with these types of animals. Answered by Jessica - Fri Sep 14 10:42:16 2007 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Animals" This page is for quotes about animals.
